Fresh Fruit Sorbet

Stay cool this summer with this refreshing Fresh Fruit Sorbet delight. Learn how to make/prepare Fresh Fruit Sorbet by following this easy recipe.


Ingredients:


• 4 cups Fresh Fruit (sliced strawberries, peaches, kiwi fruit, bananas, papayas or mangoes)

• 1 cup Fresh Lemon Juice

• ½ cup Fresh Orange Juice

• Sugar (to taste)

• 1 pinch of Salt

• Mint Sprigs (for garnishing)


How to make Fresh Fruit Sorbet:

• Take a large bowl and spread the sliced fruit in it.

• Cover the fruit with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, to prevent it from browning.

• Place the bowl in the refrigerator, until well chilled.

• Mix together the remaining lemon juice, orange juice, sugar and salt. Stir well till the sugar is dissolved.

• Pour the juice in a plastic container and place it in the freezer.

• Remove after an hour and process it in a blender.

• Put it back into the freezer, until completely frozen.

• To serve, place some mixed fruit in a dessert style bowl.

• Scoop out some frozen juice over the fresh fruit and garnish with fresh mint sprigs.

Chocolate Sorbet

Chocolate Sorbet is a rich and deep chocolate-flavored dessert. Learn how to make/prepare Chocolate Sorbet by following this easy recipe.

Ingredients:


• 2½ cups Water

• 1¼ cups Sugar

• ½ cup Unsweetened Cocoa

• 3 ounces Bittersweet Chocolate (finely chopped)

• 2 tsp Vanilla Extract


How to make Chocolate Sorbet:

• Pour water in a medium saucepan and place over heat.

• Boil the water and stir in sugar and unsweetened cocoa.

• Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

• Remove the pan from heat and add bittersweet chocolate and vanilla extract.

• Stir continuously to melt the chocolate.

• Cover the pan and chill completely in the refrigerator.

• Remove and pour the chocolate mixture into a freezer can and put it in the freezer, uncovered.

• Remove after the mixture has set and blend it in a food processor. Put it back into the freezer.

• Repeat 2 to 3 times.

• Finally, cover and freeze the sorbet for about 1 hour or until firm.

Black Grape Sherbet

Black Grape Sherbet is a tangy spicy drink for hot summers. Learn how to make/prepare Black Grape Sherbet by following this easy recipe.



Ingredients:



• 4 cups Black Grape Juice


• 1 tsp Fennel Seeds (saunf)


• 1/2 tsp Carom Seeds (ajwain)


• 3/4 tsp Cumin Seeds


• 3 tsp Black Salt (kala namak)


• 1 1/2 tbsp Tamarind Pulp


• Crushed Ice as required


• Black Grapes for garnish


• Green Grapes for garnish
How to make Black Grape Sherbet:


• In a pan, dry roast cumin seeds, carom seeds and fennel seeds till light brown.


• Shift the spices to a grinder, add black salt and grind it to a fine powder.


• In a jug, pour out the grape juice and add the ground spices, tamarind pulp and crushed ice and mix well.


• Pour into glasses and garnish with black and green grapes.


• Serve chilled.

Berry Sorbet

Berry Sorbet is a refreshing and cool mocktail. Learn how to make/prepare Berry Sorbet by following this easy recipe.

Ingredients:



• 225 g Castor Sugar


• 200 ml boiled Water


• 750 g Berries/Currants


• 2 tsp Liquid Glucose


• 1 Lemon (juice)


How to make Berry Sorbet:


• Combine boiled water and sugar in a pan.


• Boil until sugar is completely dissolved.


• Add berries and glucose. Simmer for 5 minutes on low flame.


• Pour the prepared fruit mixture in a processor and blend it.


• Transfer the mixture into a sive and with the help of the back of the spoon, press the fruit pulp to get the juice.


• Add lemon juice and mix well.


• Keep the fruit juice in a container and place in the freezer.


• Remove and beat the mixture in the container 3-4 times.


• Put it back into the freezer.


• When frozen, cover and refrigerate it.


• Take out 10 minutes before serving.

Cantaloupe Sorbet

Cantaloupe Sorbet is very refreshing and cool sorbet for hot summer days. Learn how to make Muskmelon Sorbet by following this easy recipe.




Ingredients:
• 1 Small ripe cantaloupe or muskmelon
• 3/4 Cup superfine sugar
• 1/4 Cup orange juice
• 1/2 tsp Salt

How to make Cantaloupe Sorbet:
• Remove the outer skin and seeds from the melon.
• Cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
• Put it in a blender; add orange juice, sugar and salt.
• Blend for about 30 seconds or till the melon is pureed properly.
• Cover it and put into a refrigerator.
• Now stir the chilled mixture.
• Freeze in your ice cream machine according to the manufacturer's directions.

Apple and Calvados Sorbet Recipe Preparation Time 150 Minutes Cooking Time 15 Minutes



Ingredients:

• 1-1/3 cup Tart Apples (peeled, chopped)

• 3 cups Water

• ½ cup Granulated Sugar

• ¼ cup Lemon Juice

• ¼ tsp Lemon Zest

• ¼ cup Calvados (French apple brandy)


How to make Apple and Calvados Sorbet:

• Place a medium saucepan over medium heat and combine together chopped tart apple, water and sugar.

• Stir the mixture to dissolve the sugar.

• Cover the pan and simmer over low heat.

• Cook for about 15 minutes or till the apples are soft and tender.

• Remove the pan and cool the mixture to room temperature.

• Add in the lemon juice, lemon zest and Calvados. Stir well.

• Pour the contents into shallow container and put it in the freezer for 2 hours.

• Remove and beat with an electric beater.

• Put it back for freezing. Repeat 2 to 3 times.

• Refreeze it until set and serve chilled.

Apple and Honey Sorbet

Ingredients:

• 1¼ pounds Granny Smith apples (cored and thinly sliced)

• 1½ cups Water
• 1½ cups Sugar
• 1½ Lemons (juiced)
• 1 tbsp Honey

How to make Apple and Honey Sorbet:

• Take a large plastic container and mix apples with the juice of half a lemon.

• Cover the container with a lid and freeze it for several hours or overnight.
• Pour water and sugar in a small saucepan and place it on fire. Let the mixture boil.
• When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
• Remove the saucepan from heat and add in honey. Stir well and cool completely.
• Pour the apple mixture in a blender and liquidize it.
• Add juice of 1 lemon and the cooled sugar syrup. Blend it well, until smooth.
• Pour the mixture into an ice cream machine and freeze as per the instructions.
• Remove the sorbet 10 minutes before serving, to soften out a little.
