Chilly Prawn

Chilly Prawn is a tangy Chinese recipe. Learn how to prepare Chilly Prawn by following this easy recipe.


Ingredients:

• 2 Cups prawns
• 2 Onions
• 2 Capsicums
• 2 tsp Pepper
• 1 tbsp Soy sauce
• 2 tbsp Spring onion
• 4 tbsp Maida
• 4 tbsp Corn flour
• 2 Garlic flakes
• 2 Eggs
• 1 Pinch ajinomoto
• Salt to taste
• Pepper and sugar to taste
• Oil for frying
   
How to make Chilly Prawn:

 
• Chop the onions, capsicum, green chillies, garlic and ginger
• Clean the prawns.
• Mix maida, corn flour, eggs, salt, pepper and sugar to make a batter.
• Heat the oil.
• Dip the prawn pieces in batter.
• Fry them till reddish brown in colour.
• Drain and keep it aside.
• Heat the oil.
• Add chopped ginger, garlic, chopped vegetables and green chillies one by one.
• Toss them well.
• Now add prawns.
• Mix salt, sugar, pepper, ajinomoto and soy sauce.
• Toss the mixture by adding water.
• Once the mixture is half cooked, add spring onions.
• Mix it well.
• Chilly Prawn is ready.

Ingredients:

• 8 ounce Cream Cheese (softened)
• 1 Onion (minced)
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
• 1-1/2 tbsp Prepared Horseradish
• 6 ounce Crab Meat (drained)
• 1 tsp Hot Pepper Sauce
• 12 ounce Cocktail Sauce
   
How to make Cold Crab Dip:


• Thoroughly mix cream cheese, onion, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, crab meat and hot sauce in a bowl.
• In a pie pan, spread the mixture and cover it with cocktail sauce.
• Refrigerate for two hours and then serve.

Ingredients:

• 1 kg Prawns

• 6 Onions (cut into rings)

• 1½ inch piece of Ginger (chopped)

• 5 Garlic Cloves (chopped)

• 5 small Tomatoes (chopped)

• 8 stems of Curry Leaves

• 4 tsp Kashmiri Chilly Powder

• 4 tsp Red Chilly Powder

• 4 Green Chilies (chopped)

• ½ tsp Turmeric Powder

• Salt (to taste)

• Coconut Oil (as required)


How to make Prawns With Tomato:

• Mix prawns, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, little water, and salt together in a large bowl. Marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes.

• Heat little oil in a pan and gently fry the prawns. Remove and keep aside.

• Heat 2 tbsp of oil in the same pan and fry ginger and garlic for a minute.

• Stir in green chilies, curry leaves, and onions. Fry until the onions turn brown.

• Add in kashmiri chilly powder, tomatoes, and fried prawns. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.

• Serve hot with fried rice.

Golden Fried Prawns

Ingredients:

• 8 Prawns (king size)

• 1/4 tsp Ajinomoto

• 1/2 tsp Baking powder

• 100 gm Corn flour

• 1/4 tsp White pepper

• 2 tsp Oil

• 50 gm White flour (Maida)

• 2 Egg whites

• 2 tsp Red wine or sherry

• Oil for frying

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 1/2 Cup water


How to make Golden Fried Prawns:

• Wash and chop the prawns into pieces.

• Mix salt, wine, black pepper and prawns properly and leave this mixture for 20 minutes.

• Take a bowl and prepare a mixture of corn flour, white flour, egg whites, ajinomoto, baking powder, white pepper, water and oil.

• Stir it until the mixture thickens.

• Now dip the prawns in this mixture.

• Fry prawns properly.

• Golden fried prawn is ready.

Baked Crab

Ingredients:

• 4 fresh Cromer Crabs

• 30 g Butter

• ½ Lemon Juice

• ½ tsp Mustard

• 4 Nutmeg (grated)

• A pinch of Cayenne Pepper

For Toppings:

• 15 g Bread Crumbs

• 1 tbsp melted Butter

• 30 gm Parmesan Cheese (grated)

• Lemon Wedges


How to make Baked Crab:

• Preheat oven to 200°C.

• Mix melted butter, mustard, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, & lemon juice in a bowl.

• Fill the mixture through the crabmeat gently & put into the shells.

• Mix bread crumbs with melted butter and Parmesan cheese.

• Layer the mixture over the crab evenly.

• Bake the crab for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

• Serve hot with lemon wedges.

Coconut Crab Curry

Coconut Crab Curry goes well with steamed rice, roti or some nice crusty bread. Learn how to make/prepare Crab Coconut Curry by following this easy recipe. 
 

Ingredients:

• 6-8 Live blue crabs or 2 Dungeness crabs or Mud crabs, about 1-1/2 lb each

• 1 Can coconut milk

• 1 Lime, juiced

• 3-1/2 tbsp Malaysian fish curry powder

• 1-1/2 tbsp Chili powder

• 2 tsp Turmeric powder

• 8-10 Curry leaves

• 2 Red onions, sliced

• 4-6 Cloves garlic

• 1 Inch fresh ginger, sliced

• 4 tbsp Vegetable oil

• 3 Cups water

• Salt to taste


How to make Coconut Crab Curry:

• Wash the Blue crabs and cut it into halves and Dungeness or Mud crabs can be cut into 4.

• Crack the shells and claws gently with a mallet.

• Grind onions, garlic and ginger to make a fine paste.

• Add vegetable oil to a hot pot and stir-fry paste for 2-3 minutes.

• Take a small bowl, combine chili powder, fish curry powder and turmeric powder, few tbsp water and mix into a thick paste.

• Add this paste to the pot, stir-fry till quite toasted and oil starts to ooze from paste.

• Now add coconut milk, curry leaves, water, and season with salt.

• When the mixture starts to boil, decrease the heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally till the sauce thickens slightly for about 15-18 minutes.

• Add lime juice and crabs, stir to coat with sauce.

• Cover and simmer till crabs turn red.

• Take out crabs from the pot and keep warm, let stand for about 15 minutes.


Tip of the day: When very finely chopped greens or chillies etc. are required in a recipe, use a pair of sharp Scissors instead of a knife. The job will be made faster, more efficient and safe to cut.
