Cabbage Pickle

Cabbage Pickle is a temporary pickle. Learn how to prepare Cabbage Pickle by following this easy recipe.


Ingredients:

• 4 cup Cabbage (chopped) 
• 4 cup Vinegar 
• 1 tsp Salt 
• 1 tbsp Dry Mustard Seeds(roasted) 
• 1/2 cup Water 
• 4 cup Onion (chopped) 
• 1 cup White Sugar 
• 1 tbsp Curry Powder 
• 1/2 cup Flour

How to make Cabbage Pickle:

• Boil chopped cabbages and onions with vinegar in a vessel for 10 minutes.
• Add sugar, and salt to it. Mix mustard and curry powder with flour.
• Add enough water to make a paste and stir properly.
• Stir paste into boiled cabbage-onion mixture and boil again for 20 minutes.
• Bottle and seal while hot.

Baked Cabbage

Baked Cabbage is a delicious dish made of tomatoes, cabbage and spices. Learn how to prepare Baked Cabbage by following this easy recipe.




Ingredients:

• 1 big Cabbage
• 3 Tomatoes (chopped)
• 1 Onion (chopped)
• 1 tsp Black Pepper
• ½ tsp Garlic Paste
• ¼ tsp Caraway Seeds (shahi jeera)
• ½ tsp Salt
• 1/8 cup Water
   
How to make Baked Cabbage:


• Heat the oven to 325 degrees.
• Quarter the cabbage.
• Boil the cabbage pieces in dutch oven or a kettle for about 10 minutes with little salt.
• Take a small bowl and mix in it chopped onions, garlic paste, salt, black pepper powder, chopped tomatoes, caraway seeds, salt and water.
• Now place the cabbage in a baking dish after removing the sections.
• Pour the masala on the cabbage.
• Now put the dish in the oven and cook for 30 minutes.
• In between make sure to saute so that the cabbage wedges are cooked evenly.
• Serve hot.

Cabbage Paratha

Cabbage Paratha is a whole wheat bread made with cabbage and ginger. Learn how to make/prepare Cabbage Paratha by following this easy recipe.



Ingredients:

• 3 cups Wheat Flour
• 1 cup Cabbage (finely grated)
• 1'' Ginger (finely chopped)
• 1 tsp Green Chillies (chopped)
• 1 tbsp Fresh Coriander (finely chopped)
• ½ tsp Garam Masala
• Butter/Oil (for frying)
• Salt to taste
   
How to make Cabbage Paratha:

• Mix the wheat flour and salt properly in a bowl.
• Then add 1 teaspoon oil, grated cabbage, coriander, ginger and green chillies and again mix well.
• Now knead this into soft dough by mixing enough water.
• Take little portion of the dough and make a round ball.
• Roll this ball into the shape of a round paratha.
• Heat the tawa (griddle) and cook the paratha with butter or oil as per your choice.
• Cook till both the sides of paratha turn golden brown.
• Serve hot parathas with curd or pickle.

Cabbage Rolls

Cabbage Rolls is a very delicious recipe. Learn how to make/prepare Cabbage Rolls by following this easy recipe.





Ingredients:
• 1 large Onion (diced) 
• 1 medium Pepper (diced) 
• 2½ oz Pepperoni (diced) 
• 10 oz Tomato Soup 
• ½ cup Water 
• 15 large Green Cabbage Leaves 
• ¼ cup White Vinegar 
• 7½ oz Spanish-Style Rice Mix 
• 15 oz Tomatoes (stewed with juice) 
• 2 tsp Vegetable Oil 

How to make Cabbage Rolls:
• Take a large skillet and put the cabbage in it with water.
• Boil it covered for about 30 minutes.
• Reduce the heat and mix vinegar.
• Simmer until the content softens.
• Drain it and set it aside.
• Meanwhile, according to package directions, prepare Spanish rice using the stewed tomatoes; set it aside.
• Heat oil in a frying pan; mix pepper, onion, and ham.
• Cook it for about 5 minutes approximately.
• Preheat the oven to 350 degree F; grease the baking dish.
• Place a cabbage leaf and spoon the prepared content inside.
• Roll up the leaf and place it in the dish.
• Repeat the same for the remaining cabbage.
• Now mix it with tomato soup and water.
• Transfer the mixture over the rolls.
• Take an aluminum foil and wrap the dish in it.
• Bake it until cabbage is tender.
• Serve it hot.

Ingredients:
• 1 small Cabbage (shredded finely) 
• 2 small Onions (minced finely) 
• Salt to taste 
• 1 tsp Garam Masala powder 
• 1 tsp Chilli powder 
• 1 cup Besan 
• 1 large Onion (sliced finely) 
• 2 Cloves 
• 1 Cinnamon Stick 
• 1-2 Cardamom Pods 
• 1 small piece Ginger 
• 1 tsp Jeera 
• 1 tsp Coriander Seeds 
• 1 tsp Poppy Seeds 
• 1 tsp Cashewnuts 
• 4-5 Green Chillies 
• 1 medium Tomato 
• 1/2 cup Coriander Leaves (chopped) 
• 1/2 tbsp Yogurt

How to make Cabbage Kofta Curry:
• Mix items 1-6 for the kofta and make a batter.
• Pour small round lumps of the batter in hot oil.
• Deep fry and keep aside.
• Heat some more oil in a pan and add the jeera, coriander and poppy seeds.
• Add to it and fry the rest of the sliced onion till it turns translucent.
• Now grind to a paste cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and cashew andtomato.
• Add the masala paste to the onion fry.
• Keep frying till the oil starts to separate from the onions.
• Add 1 tablespoon of yogurt and mix well.
• Add salt and enough water to make a think gravy and bring the mixture to a simmer.
• Add the deep fried koftas and heat through.
• Serve hot with chapattis or rice.

Ingredients:
• ½ Cabbage (chopped) 
• 1/4 cup Coriander leaves (chopped) 
• 1/2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste 
• 3 tbsp Gram Flour (besan) 
• 1/2 tsp Chili Powder 
• 1/4 tsp Coriander Powder (dhania powder) 
• Salt to taste 
• Oil for deep fry 

How to make Cabbage Pakoda:
• In a bowl, mix all the ingredients except oil to make a paste. (Add water, if required).
• Shape it in the form of pakoda.
• Deep fry the mixture in the oil.
• Once it becomes golden brown, transfer the pakodas into a plate.

Ingredients:
• 5 cups Cabbage (finely shredded) 
• 1/4 cup White Raisins (seedless) 
• 3/4 cup Almonds (sliced blanched) 
• 1-1/2 cups Cubed White Bread 
• 1 Large Onion (chopped) 
• 1/2 Cup Boiling Water 
• 1/3 cup Potato Flour 
• 1/3 cup Butter 
• 2 tbsp Sugar 
• 2 tsp Salt 
• 4 Eggs

How to make Cabbage Kugel:
• Heat the butter in a pan over medium heat.
• When the butter melts, add shredded cabbage and salt; cook for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Allow it to cool.
• Now add boiling water over the bread pieces and squeeze dry.
• Mash the bread pieces. Add potato flour, raisins, almonds and sugar to the bread.
• Add the egg yolk and cooked cabbage; mix until smooth.
• Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry and add into the mixture.
• Pour the mixture into a greased casserole and put it in an oven preheated at 350 F oven for 40 minutes, or until set.
• Cabbage Kugel is ready. Serve hot.

Chinese Cabbage Salad is a crunchy salad, with great texture and color. Learn how to make/prepare Chinese Cabbage Salad by following this easy recipe.




Ingredients:



• 1 (3 ounce) Package ramen noodles, crushed


• 10 Ounces cashewnut pieces


• 1 (16 ounce) Package shredded coleslaw mix


• 1 Bunch green onions, chopped


• 1/2 Cup white sugar


• 1/2 Cup vegetable oil


• 1/4 Cup cider vinegar


• 1 tbsp Soy sauce


How to make Chinese Cabbage Salad:


• In a preheated 350 degree F oven, toast the crushed noodles and nuts until golden brown.


• In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw, green onions, toasted ramen noodles and cashews.


• Prepare dressing, by whisking together the sugar, oil, vinegar and soy sauce.


• Pour the dressing over the salad, toss and serve.


• Chinese Cabbage Salad is ready.

Andhra cabbage Curry is a very popular recipe. Learn how to prepare Andhra cabbage Curry by following this easy recipe.



Ingredients:
• 1 Cabbage (medium size)
• 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
• 2 Red Chillies
• 1/4 tbsp Turmeric
• 2 Green Chillies
• 3-4 Curry Leaves
• ¼ tbsp Chili Powder (optional)
• Salt to taste
• Water to boil

For Tadka:

• ½ tbsp Chana Dal
• 1/2 tbsp Urud Dal
• 1 pinch Asafetida ( Hing)
• 1 tbsp Oil
• 1/2 tbsp Cumin Seeds ( Jeera)

How to make Andhra cabbage Curry:
• Finely chop the cabbage and cook it with water, salt and turmeric.
• Drain the water from it and keep aside.
• Grind the mustard seeds with red chillies into a fine powder (preferred, not to roast them).
• Heat the oil in a pan and put the ingredients for Tadka and finely chopped green chillies.
• Add the cooked cabbage and season it with salt and chili powder.
• Finally add the ground mustard powder and curry leaves and cook for 2-3 mins on low flame.

Suggestions:
Serve it hot with both chapatti/roti and rice.

Cabbage Carrot Curry is a popular South Indian curry. Learn how to prepare Cabbage Carrot Curry by following this easy recipe.



Ingredients:

• 3 tsp Chana Dal (split Bengal gram)

• 1/4 cup Fresh Coconut (grated)

• 3 cups Cabbage (chopped)

• 1 cup Carrots (cut into small cubes)

• Salt (to taste)

For Seasoning:

• 5-6 Curry Leaves

• 4-5 Green Chilies (slit and cut into half)

• 3-4 tsp Vegetable Oil

• 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)

• 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)

• 1-2 Red Chilies (broken into pieces)

• 1/4 inch piece of Ginger (finely grated)


How to make Cabbage Carrot Curry:

• First steam the chopped cabbage and carrots with some salt.

• Then boil the chana dal with a little water about 4-5 minutes.

• Take a pan and heat oil.

• Put the mustard and cumin seeds, and fry it until they start popping. T

• Now add green and red chilies, ginger, and curry leaves and stir for a few seconds.

• Put the steamed cabbage, chana dal and carrot and stir-fry for

• 2 min on medium heat.

• Now put grated coconut and cook for another 2 min.

• Serve it hot.


Suggestions: Serve with rice.

Cabbage Tomato Curry is a very popular south indian recipe. Learn how to prepare Cabbage Tomato Curry by following this easy recipe.



Ingredients:

• 1 Cabbage (chopped in to small pieces)

• 1 Onion (finely chopped)

• 2 Tomatoes (chopped)

• 1/2 Ginger Garlic Paste

• 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

• 1 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder

• 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (jeera)

• 2 1/2 tsp Cumin-Coriander powder (dhania-jeera powder)

• 4 tbsp Oil

• 4 Coriander Leaves

• Salt to taste


How to make Cabbage Tomato Curry:

• Heat the frying pan and add one tablespoon oil into it.

• Toss Jeera seeds, mustard seeds, ginger garlic paste, turmeric.

• When they splutter add the chopped onions and let them fry well.

• Add cabbage to it and fry it nicely.

• Add Water if required and let it cook well.

• Add the tomato into the pan and mix well.

• sprinkle jeera-coriander powder and salt to it.

• Leave it, to cook for a while.

• Garnish this with coriander.


Suggestions: serve it hot with rice/roti

Cabbage and Capsicum Pulao

Ingredients:
• 1 Cup basmati rice, soaked in water
• 1 Capsicum, sliced
• 1/2 Cabbage, chopped lengthwise
• 1 Onion, sliced
• 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tsp Green chili paste
• A pinch of Ajinomoto
• Salt to taste
• Oil for cooking
• Water

How to make Cabbage and Capsicum Pulao:


• Heat oil in the pan.

• Add sliced onion and cook till it becomes light brown.
• Add sliced capsicum to it and cook for 2 min.
• Then add chopped cabbage and cook again for a while
• Then add ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste and ajinomoto. Mix well
• Add the soaked rice in it and mix lightly, taking care that the rice don’t break.
• Add required quantity of water and cook till the rice is done.
• Cabbage and Capsicum Pulao is ready.

CABBAGE PORIYAL

Ingredients:
• 2 Cups cabbage, shredded


• 1/2 tsp Urad dal

• 1 tsp Mustard seeds

• 2 Dry red chillies, broken


• 1 Green chilli, slit


• 8 to 10 Curry leaves

• 1/4 Cup fresh coconut, grated

• A pinch turmeric powder

• 2 tsp Oil

• Salt to taste

How to make Cabbage Poriyal:

• Take a frying pan and heat oil.

• Add mustard seeds and urad dal. Let the seeds crackle.

• Add green chilli, dry red chillies, curry leaves and turmeric powder.

• Stir the mixture for few seconds.

• Add cabbage, salt and 1/4 cup of water.

• Cook over medium heat until the cabbage is tender.

• Mix grated coconut with it and serve hot.
